Pots for Gibson Les Paul (any Lefty Long Shaft out there?)

I just rewired my Gibson Les Paul Future Tribute, threw out the PCB and installed 500k pots with 50's wiring.
But the pot shafts are not long enough to really fit the guitar.
I do not want to drill my guitar at all :-/
So now i i can buy 500k long shaft linear pots, it is better than 500k log at least but it is not what i really want. I found these and will order them if i do not find a better substitute: http://www.axesrus.co.uk/Long-Shaft-CTS-Pots-p/ctsloglong.htm
So my question the you experts:
Are there any 500k long shaft Log C / reverse log pots out there or how do you do the rewiring of your Gibson guitars?
Do you drill the holes to a wider radius to fit in the usual CTS 500k Log C pots?

Regards Sascha

Drilling to a larger radius is kinda pain in the ass, even when you've got a pillar drill. :?

I'm afraid 500k antilog pots will be hard to find...

My humbucker guitars are wired as right handed models with 500k log pots. Never tried something else.

A french shop also sells long shaft pots: http://www.guitarnblues.fr/accessoires-guitare-basse.php?g=potentiometre-guitare-cts-long-lespaul-at-500k-log&r=70&c=10&id=7108

Take linear pots ; it works very well and is easier to find than anti-log.
You can also choose log if you wire the pots clockwise. My ES-335 is wired this way.

Ok, thanx.
I will buy linear pots. I had the wrong (right handed) wiring in my les paul and i hate that because i get confused by it cuz my Strat is wired lefthanded ;-)

Medronio,

I may be late, but...

You could buy LOG A pots and wire your 2 volume pots like the Neck and Bridge volume pots of a Gretsch (with no master volume) : I noticed that wired in the "righty" way, I needed RA or C reverse-log pots to have progressivity. So if you want to wire them in the "lefty" way, the LOG A pots are convenient, then...

Note : that works for the 2 volumes, but not for the 2 tones where you would need RA pots for a "lefty" wiring, or at least LIN B pots for a bit of progressivity.

A+!

Hello!
Yes it is late because i bought and installed 4 linear Long Shaft 500k Pots yesterday.
But anyway i am interested how you wire righty pots the lefty way considering the wrong log scale.
Do you want to share your idea with us, i guess there are others out there interested in it too.

Oh, I invented nothing : it is the Gretsch wiring, nothing else, translated to the Gibson wiring for the 2 volume pots...

I will draw a schematic and post it here.

A+!
